I finally finished getting all the grease off of it. My new Soviet Tokarev TT33. Everything has matching serial numbers except the mag. Can't wait to try out this 7.62x25 ammo, heard a lot of good things about it. Lets see those Tokarev pictures! Anyone have any aftermarket stuff for these pistols?

That's a really nice pistol! I'd leave it stock, not that there is much after-market stuff it anyway.

Nice service pistol. Do you have any history on the gun? The trigger is interesting, love to hear your experience of shooting the gun for the first time

These are very interesting handguns. The 7.62 X 25 Ctg. copied from the .30 Mauser 7.63 X 25 which was chambered in the famous C 96 Broom Handles.
These pistols were copied from the Browning pistols. They do have a unique modular sear system easily removed and replaced. Back years ago when they were plentiful and very cheap I owned a number of them.
I converted them to different Ctgs. 9MMs and 38 Supers. I placed one in a muddy creek during snow run off. It was filled with sand and mud. I removed the gun from the creek poured the water from the barrel. I proceeded to run two magazines thru it without a FTF.:D

Just tried to fire the new pistol and the pin won't puncture the primer fully, any suggestions?

Is it hitting at all and are you using the surplus ammo or the new stuff

It is hitting but not enough all the time. It will fire eventually just don't want to wreck it if I continue to shoot it. Tried both surplus and new

You may need to replace the hammer assembly

For many years the 7.62 X 25 ammo was impossible to find. These guns were often re chambered to the .30 Mauser. Most guns will fire either round. They can have misfires because of the head space. Try firing some .30 Mauser it may work OK.:)

You should be able to find the hammer assembly online and it should drop right in

Sounds like a weak hammer spring.

Also make sure that the firing pin channel has been fully cleaned of any grease or obstructions that would kep teh firing pin from being able to travel fully forward.

I soaked the pistol in varsol again, and also re lubricated. Will be a bit until I get to the range again but I will just have to go from there. Stopped by a local gunsmith and he had nothing in stock. Might check online.

Finally got to the range today and fired almost 200 rounds without any issue, guess I just had to clean it better. Glad it's working fine now. Thanks for all the help. Can't wait to get out and shoot it again!
