    Jealous; my 1911 still lives naked... I want/need some good ole fashion gun leather.

    It looks awesome, congrats.

    Made those myself. I domed real 1911 nickels and epoxied them to the snap button front before assembly.

    Thanks everyone! Really appreciate it. I've got a stack of 1911 nickels that I'm going to have to put to good use. More snaps and some inlaid grips I'm thinking.

    Kelly - I make Kimber sizes, too! :D

    Can the 1911 nickels be placed over the existing buttons??

    I think that should be possible. Sand the existing snap top, dome the nickel, then epoxy or silver solder the two together.
