Hey guys just got these in today

Grey Gun barrel Trigger Gun accessory Gas

I have a upper ready for one

And want to build one if the others into a pistol

I currently have no experience with ar pistols ... Any recommendations in barrel length? Was planning on doing a 10 inch

Also is it legal to shoulder the buffer tube and shoot? You are not attaching a stock... But would that be consider to be using your tube as a stock.. Seen some people on YouTube recommend it idk

Combat,

That is going to be an exciting build! Can not wait to see your final results.
As far as the one picture I am not positive but I believe it might be illegal to add anything to the Extension Tube (Buffer Tube) on an AR Pistol. I know it is illegal to add any type of vertical grip on the handguard on them.
Send us some pictures and a range report on yours.
Here is my AR Pistol.
It Has Rock River Arms Receiver, RRA 2 Stage NM Trigger, KNS Anti-Rotate Trigger and Hammer Pins, Quick take-down Take Down and Pivot Pins, Noveske Flaming Pig Muzzle Break, Optics and other features.

Man that's an awesome looking rig

The picture above is side thing I had in mind i'm not sure what exactly I wanna put on it but I already have a rail and a lower...

I really like the flaming pig look I have thought of using that but want a brake on it

Do you happen to know anything about shouldering it?
How does it shoot.. What is you're main use for yours?

Gentleman,

I will try to cover everything I've read so far. The CAA check rest in that picture is legal, but you have to leave some visible tube at the end. The tube is what you can make contact with. Yes you can shoulder fire it , and rest your check on the saddle. As far as putting a break on a pistol, it depends on the length of you barrel. I run a 7.5" barrel so I am using something that creates a little back pressure, due to the short cycling of the pistol has system. I have a PWS CQB, it's similar to the Noveske KX3. A Troy Claymore can work good too. if your using a longer barrel it can cycle smoothly with out needing on of those above muzzle devices. I personally think anything longer than a 7.5" is just an SBR, minus a stock.
Here is a pic I mine.

Thanks brother. Im running the YHM. The sad part is, its never been fired. Just finished it, and have not had time. Still considering running BUIS with a micro red dot. I want to swap out the A2 irons before I go sight it in. The A2 were leftovers from previous builds.

My first build, unfortunately tragically lost in a boating accident. I miss her dearly. RIP.
7.5 barrel in a Vltor CASV-M handguard. I had an Aimpoint H1 on a KAC mount on it.

I think I still have pictures of her with the Aimpoint on somewhere, I can upload for you if you want.

Ha its all good I have a brand new 300 black out upper hasn't been shoot and a new (used) acog I have on a 223 that hasn't been sighted in :(

I really got to find a good place to shoot here in TX... I know the gun laws are good out here but I can't find a place to tactical shoot

Quite honestly the CAA side saddle doesn't mount very securely onto a naked buffer tube. I plastic dipped my tube about 50 times over tghe course of a day. Just dipped, waited half an hour rinse and repeated.then I took a section of bicycle tube and pulled it over. Then I tightened the bolts of the tube till then literally bent. Its pretty secure now, I have to readjust it every few range trips. Elegant it ain't but its functional.

Can u do a SBR over there ?
Yes, with a competition license. They sell Baretta storm carbines, HK UMP and M4 versions of ARs. I am sure I am missing more. No with a hunting license. My Hera Arms AR was practically shortest overall length allowed to a hunter (94cm to the mandatory 92cm). I was lucky, because the minimal length was with adjustable stock fully extended.

With any military style rifle, you must show a need for the rifle. My justification was a smaller round for hunting Roe Deer. Funny, I use my .308 while hunting, because the boars might show up. You cannot hunt boar with a .223. Oh, self defense can never be used as a need on the paperwork, although it is a given.;)

It took me a number of months to get the rifle. Permission, paperwork and the LGS ordering the extra 2 round mandatory mag from magpul. You can only hunt with more than a 2 round semi-auto in Germany. If I did not show proof of the 2 round mag, I would not be able to pick up rifle. The gun came with a 20 round mag though, and I ordered more. I cannot find 30 mags over here. They are legal, just not available. For competition, you have to purchase 10 round mags.
