Picked up a Browning Hi Power Competition model this weekend.
Very nice. I almost bought one of those about 25 years ago. Wish I had picked it up.
Please let us know how it shoots.
Nice new addition. Hope to see some range reports soon.
Thanx. I've been looking for one for quite some time in this condition
Will do, I hope to get to the range next saturday. Its been quite hot here lately, too much so for shooting.
Hello. Enjoy your Competition Model. Those things group very nicely. If interested, here is an article on this type Hi Power from a few years ago.
A Critical Look at the FN Competition Model
Best to you and yours and good shooting.
I have to say I read that resource on the BHP many times while waiting to find this one
Congratulations Morgo. There's nothing like a Hi power, and that's a nice one.
Thanxs. I'm considering adding some Nill timber grips to it yet.
Two fine pistols. Waiting for a range report on the new toy.
God, that's a nice pistol.
Cheers mate, I can't wait to test it out
Well it was a bit warmer than normal here, around 45C which I believe is about 110F. With that kind of temp I'd rather be under the water
Went to the range today with a couple hundred rounds.
The BHP shot very well, no issues of any kind with either magazine. Trigger is very crisp though the reset is a little longer than I prefer.
Sights worked well and the pistol was shooting pretty well zeroed from the start.
The BHP sits very well in the hand and being that it's no light weight it handles very nicely during shooting with little muzzle rise.
I did most of the shooting from 20yards today, I normally shoot 25 but its overcast and dark here today under cover so I moved forward for better light.
The first shot fired from the BHP was absolutely dead centre.
The rest of the groups were averaging around 2-3 inches at 20yards.
The long trigger reset is possibly why I opened up a little as I'm more used to a very short reset on my 1911's where as the BHP was almost all the way out.
Overall I'm very happy with and its a good shooter that I'm sure will become a great shooter
Very nice. BHP's are great to shoot.
Nice shooting, Morgo.
I agree about the trigger reset. It is the only complaint I have about the HP.
The trigger is just something I'll have to adjust for, still it wasn't that much of a problem.
Good shooting. I find having to adjust to HP triggers as well.
