Hello everyone. I am new to the site and excited to be here! I am having a serious brain cramp with my Post 64 Model 70 bolt. It is out of the rifle and accidentally is now on fire instead of at the halfway position of safe on the 3 stage safety. Everyone has said it has to be re-cocked, but when I grab the tab with my padded vise, I can pull it out, but it will not stay out. I know it's not right because when putting it back into the gun you cannot pull the trigger. First step, download the manual it should have pictures.

Look on you tube, there will be quite a few videos on model 70 bolts.

You need to pull the cocking piece out and *turn* the bolt body, so that the nose ends up at the top of the cocking ramp instead of the bottom.
