Anyone have any tricks for dressing for a tuckable?

Best I can do is fold a shirt, then pull it into the tuckable area of the holster. Just don't feel it is to concealed. It is a full size M&P .40.

Anyone have other or better suggestions?

What kind of holster are you currently using?

I have an AlienGear Hybrid. Just seems more difficult to tuck than it should be. It is a very nice and comfy holster but attempting to get the shirt tucked in around the gun didn't conceal too well. I wore it last night and it was OK but had to pull the other side out to make it look symmetrical.

I'm thinking now a single belt clip would be much easier but may not hold the gun cant consistently.

    I like your signature. :)

I use the Kangaroo holster. Not as accessible as an IWB, but it does work great.

You will need a very loose shirt, ample over your waist to avoid printing. I do t know of a particular holster that will help. Kydex is the thinnest but (to me) uncomfortable IWB. I would wear the shirt untucked, or get a smaller CCW. Not much help I know, but you offered a tough equation.

I bought one of those holsters for my Taurus 709 slim. Most painful holster I ever bought. I then bought a smaller gun, made a nice pocket holster and stick it in my back pocket. The gun is a .380 Taurus 738 TCP. I load my own ammo so use ammo loaded to almost +P. Have carried that holster/handgun combo all winter and no one ever asked me what was in my back pocket. Forget the tuck. I have a drawer full of loser holsters but this one is the winner. Fits in either front or back pocket, right or left hand.
The other holster I use is a belt holster...for when it's warm and I can have my tee shirt out.. Its a "active Pro Gear" with quick detach snap loops. Hugs your hip. Also carry the 709 in one too at times.

    Thanks, everyone.

Yes I have considered a smaller CCW but no funds at the moment.

Might just need more practice with the AG holster - I do like it but kinda a pain to dress. Still cold here so I'm wearing 2 shirts...might help when Spring/Summer gets here.

I did put my Blade-Tech (injection molded) in boiling water to soften to reshape and it helped. I also shifted the cant to about 15° - I think it will help. I'll know today after I go out. Injection mold doesn't give the way sheet Kydex does but we will see.

I prefer to carry full size, personally. It takes a lot of experimentation

with many holsters, as it is even more personal than your firearm

    selection.

I have spent a lot of time and money going through the "holster boxes"

you often see at LGSs. Sometimes you find a winner, but if you

get to find out what doesn't work cheaply, that's fine too.

I also find myself altering old holsters. I use sail needles, and

    braided fishing line for thread.

Wittmeba - I hear those are comfortable. I have a few suggestions for what it's worth... I would suggest only tucking in when necessary (formal functions / workplace) . Secondly, I wouldn't switch to a single clip holster. Single clip holsters do not distribute the weight of the weapon nearly as well as a wider hybrid. I think the fact that your weapon is full size may be the reason it has been hard to tuck it in. You could pull the number I did and trade my full size in for a subcompact . Great decision. How comfortable is the alien gear? Is there good grip clearance ?

    Thanks, woods.

I have read where the single loop/clip allow the holster to move around. I probably just need to get used to it. There is lots of clear space at the grip and it is super comfy. I also moved the front clip to the highest position just to make it ride a little lower and add a tad of cant.

I have big hands but I am really impressed with how compact this Hybrid is.
