I have recently acquired a Smith and Wesson 38 Special CTG ,4 inch barrel, six shot, 1940's prewar pistol. I called Smith directly and they said that this gun was called an M1905 4th change or M10 and it was made BEFORE they starting putting model numbers on their guns. They also said that I have a rare gun. I have included photos of this pistol. The bluing is somewhat faded on the barrel but in my opinion it is in excellent shape for it's age. Any ideas, opinions, or the value of this gun would be appreciated. Thx.
