Doing a huge appraisal can't figure out what this is. Any help would be great.
    14" blade if that helps.

Looks like a version of the WWII K98 Mauser bayonet.

Any way to get a bit clearer pics? Especially the markings and that locking mechanism. Everything looks right for a period k98 except that and the length of the wooden handle insert is much longer than I've seen.

Unfortunately those pics were the product of multiple tries. The stamps are hard to see in person.

No worries. The more I stare at it the more I'm sure it's not a K98. I'm in the ballpark, but need to keep looking a bit. I'll try to get back to ya in a few.

Cool thanks. I searched all over and couldn't find a match. Managed to identify and evaluate all the others. Stuck on that damn thing.

You have what appears to be an 1894/14 Norwegian Bayonet for the Krag Jorgensen.

My pleasure! That was fun. Love finding things like this out of nowhere. I have absolutely zero experience with antique weapons but I've always been a finder. Thanks for putting it up. Would love to see the whole collection!!

One of these days I'll come across an estate with all the weapons still there. The last estate I liquidated was previously home to one of the largest gun collections in the states. Unfortunately a few months before we met, the widow sold the entire collection to a local dealer for likely pennies on the dollar. Very sad.

Yeah it happens. I guess this one old lady found a sword and brought it to my boss a few years ago. She wanted $200 for it. He pulled the handle off and started searching the signature out. It was a 15th century $22000 sword. He couldn't give her $200 for it.
