Political B.S. as big a tragedy as it is, all of 3 people were shot... A ten round mag or even a bolt action would have done the same thing.

The slimy scumbags will use ANYTHING to push their agenda.
For political / legislative questions:

The difference between a 10 round mag and a 30 round mag is only 2 quick mag changes, but we all know that.

Actually, a 10 rd mag or a bolt action could have caused more deaths. The shooter would have been more careful about his shots with a gun with a limited round capacity, than he would of with a gun that he could just fire away with.
Just more political BS
I would like to know what AR-15 he was using? The rifle jammed and would not fire. The Felon had a problem shooting himself. Maybe instead of banning 20 round magazines he could ban cleaning rods and solvents. That would seem to be more effective. This is just another Democrat in a close election in a Liberal district.:(
MAybe they should consider banning unstable people from stealing other peoples rifles. Oh wait that's already illegal.

Whe are these folks going to figure out that throwing another law on the books doesn't actually prevent crime.
There is a lot of info and links in OFF "Oregon Firearms Federation"(.com) Which senator?
BY GOLLY THERE OUGHTA BE A LAW!!!

Until the american people get past this nonsensical way of thinking there's littls hope for any real solutions!

Instead of banning magazine capacity we should be banning 20 year olds.
We need to ban gun free zones. Since banning guns in certain zones only invites tragedy.
Good point Mosin, those GFZ's are a bad guys paradise.
For our anti-terrorism courses we have to write up a scenario where were the terrorists, and come up with a plot to attack a target, plan it, and present it.

Mine was simple, my group of 4 jihadis would enter the target location, pull the fire alarm and open fire with guns that are common to acquire, once the targets assembled in the meeting place.
I won't go into further detail as to not give anyone ideas.
But the point of the exercise was this.
How do you prevent it?
Answer: you can't.

What is the best response to this?
Allow the targets to be armed if the law allows them to own firearms. Hell, run your own training course if necessary to prove proficiency, but in the end, allowing the targets to fight back is the only solution, short of hiring and having an armed response team on standby.
Otherwise, never allow a congregation of people as it provides too much of a target.

Those last 2 are almost impossible to come by.

The point is, disarming people always served to make them victims.

I was asked, 'what if you get shot, shooting back at the terrorists?'
I responded, 'well then, I'd be killed fighting terrorists, instead of being a victim of terrorism.'
