    Howdy again follks!!

    I will be taking possession of a Type 99 Arisaka at the end of the month and I am looking for a Type 42 Bayonet to attach to it.

    If anyone knows where I can find one, please tell me.

    @25-5,

    I appreciate your efforts, but I would prefer to get what the rifle is suppose to have. I am building a collection of WWII weapons and I would like to stay as original as possible. :)

    @widowmaker,

    If you find it send me a PM or post here. I am hoping for success!! :D

    You would be looking for a Type 30 bayonet. It was used from 1897-1945, with the Type 30, 38, 99, and Type I rifles.

    The reason for the Type 42 is that is what I saw in several pictures with the Type 99 Rifle. If you know where to get said bayonet, please pass on the info. :D

    You are right the Type 99 Arisaka used the Type 42 Bayonet, but here is where you can get a Type 30 if you don`t find a 42.............

    I FINALLY got the bayonet from my friends house yesterday. I don't know what the difference is between a type 30 and a type 42 either.
    This one is a straight quillon birds head made by Toyoda Jidoshoki Seisakusho (Toyoda Automatic Loom Works) under Nagoya supervision. Bad news is it is just the bayonet without the metal scabbard. It has been sharpened too. It was given to him by an old Marine that served in the South Pacific. He fought at Tinian, and some of those other little pieces of paradise.

    My new bayonet.

    This is my new bayonet and here are the proof marks that I need to identify.

    I included two pictures of the proof marks for clarity.
