Thinking of responding to add for a Savage 63M .22 mag for sale in Pittsburgh. I don't know anything about this model; seller wants $150 for it. I will be in Pitt tomorrow. Should I buy?

    Hi,

The Savage Model 63M is a bolt action 22 magnum with an 18" barrel, open sights, and a walnut pistol grip stock. It was manufactured from 1964 to 1969. The Blue Book values are:

    100% 98% 95% 90% 80% 70% 60%
    $115 $100 $85 $80 $65 $50 $40

Add 20% to 30% to the Blue Book values for retail prices.

Add 50% of the purchase price of the scope to the guns value. Scopes do not add much to the value unless it is a high end scope.

Following is a guide for grading your gun.

    GRADING CRITERIA

New/Perfect - 100% condition with or without box. 100% on currently manufactured firearms assumes NIB (New In Box) condition and not sold previously at retail.

Mint - typically 98%-99% condition, depending on the age of the firearm. Probably sold previously at retail, and may have been shot occasionally.
    Excellent - 95%+ - 98% condition (typically).
    Very Good - 80% - 95% condition (all parts/finish should be original).
    Good - 60% - 80% condition (all parts/finish should be original).
Fair - 20% - 60% condition (all parts/finish may or may not be original, but must function properly and shoot).
Poor - under 20% condition (shooting not a factor).
    I hope this helps you,

    Tom

I thinking of seeing if he'll take $125.00 for it. He originally had it priced at $170.00. Does anyone know how it shoots?
