I need a little help finding a good recipe for 45 ACP. My book doesn't have the type of bullet I have in the same weight they are.

I'm using 200 gr (plated) lead round nose bullets. The powder I'm using is Unique.

Any suggestion on where I can find a recipe for this?

    Thanks.

6.0 grains of Unique is a good load and safe to use with plated bullets.

I sometimes use a plated bullet for IDPA. My full power 200 grain plated bullet sits atop 4.9 grains of Titegroup. Very accurate load. I shoot out to 25 yards with the best of them with that load.

Keep in mind that is a stout load. Not max. But definitely not light.

Lee book lists .45 ACP 200 gr lead using Unique at 5.1 gr. Min OAL 1.190. 810 fps and 9600 psi.

I found another source that says to use 5.1 gr of Unique for 200 gr LRN, so I guess that would be a good starting point.

Thanks for the advice everyone. :)

At one time, Rainier published data for their bullets.
    Have a look:

Not the bullet your loading, but I use unique behind my 230 plated and lazerleads.
I just don't find myself needing to approach maximum load, and remain happy with the unique, although a bit dirty.

i use the Alliant Power Pistol powder for all my pistol loads. works quite well so far in ll my loads. i use either 200 or 230 gr. Hornady XTP bullets for my loads, and start at about 8.0 gr. of powder. i don't even try running the max powder charge in my loads.
