I have the same rifle and too tried to find a cartridge holder that was small enough to hold the hornet cartridges securely. Guess what. I put them in my pocket. My way of solving the problem was to get another barrel in 45-70. A Uncke Mikes cartridge holder on the butt works great with these. It also adds weight and thus reduces the recoil .
