A fellow forum member was lightening his firearms load and I decided to help him out. Thefreg2000 helped me add this Marlin 783 22 WRM to my collection. I don't know that I NEEDED a 22 mag but I've always thought 22 mag was an underrated round and I've wanted one for a little while.

I was happy when it showed up because it is in great shape. Blue is nice and shiny, wood looks good, bore is great. I can't wait to shoot it!!

Thru the PMs and emails and what not he mentions a parts gun and of course I'm interested. He throws in a Remington Model 41 Targetmaster which is missing a bolt at no charge. It's in good shape overall. It does have a small crack in the stock but nothing serious. Now I'm on the hunt for a bolt...

Then jeepcreep hooked me up with this beauty. All I need now is a sheath.

Very nice spitty. You may have to make a sheath for the knife.

I thought CA357 was the resident sheath maker.

Very nice Spitty. I had my eye on Ferg's 39A but didn't have the bucks.

As far as sheath making goes, I'm almost finished with mine. Let me tell you making a sheath is not as easy as it would seem.

You can hunt groundhogs & coyotes with hollow points, and rabbits & squirrels with FMJ or "solid" bullet loads. Interestingly a .22mag solid bullet performs terminally exactly like a .22LR HP, but with flatter trajectory and more penetration.

Bear, that is very interesting information. I was planning a squirrel hunt after deer season so the 783 may see some action very soon. Now I need to get some FMJs, the 2 boxes of CCI's I picked up are hollow points.

If you're talking tree squirrel and you are going to eat em, yeahh, get some FMJ's, but if you are talking ground rat then there is nothing wrong with those hollow points.
