Well I got it used with maybe 200 or 300 rounds through it, the entire gun was in magnificent condition and came with the urban camo stock. So that being said I paid 1595 for the gun, 200 on the scope, 70 on the rings, 60 on the bipod, 10 on the bipod mount, and 489 or so for the black VLTOR stock. Kind of expensive, but I don't regret it :D

Only paid $22.50 for the magazine too :D and it has a five star rating on MidwayUSA, which is where I bought a large portion of my stuff.

Not bad at all. Really like the scope rings as well.

Yeah. :) They definitely fit the type of gun and the rail system well. They don't interfere in any way with extraction, still has plenty of clearance. I, myself, have put probably 500 rounds through it so far, but not at a range or anything, just at one of the local desert areas. So I can't exactly give an accuracy break down right now. However, I shoot it at about 100-200 yards and it hits what I aim it at. Haha. It's my baby.

Someday maybe I will own one. Have my mini-14 for now. Getting the strikeforce stock for it for Fathers Day then a red dot scope if I'm lucky.

What kind of red dot you going for? I considered the Aimpoint 9000L 4 MOA for this gun but ultimately went for the scope.

Not sure yet. Have to check around a bit. Probably start with something cheap then work my way up.

Ah, yeah I considered the 9000L when midway had a huge sale on it. It was 100$ off until May 31st. Don't forget though, as I'm sure you know, you get what you pay for. :p

If you go with a red dot, I would suggest a 2 MOA. I have an Aimpoint Comp M3 on my Socom, and the smaller MOA helps with the accuracy for sure. :)

I was only considering the 4 MOA because it was $100 off on MidwayUSA. The 2 MOA wasn't on sale. However, I do agree with you, I much prefer the smaller sizes to larger sizes. Nikon has an adjustable red dot sight that I believe has 1 MOA, 2 MOA, 4 MOA, 6 MOA, and 10 MOA. All in one, anyone have any thoughts on that? I thought it was quite interesting, but have no idea how it'd actually perform or hold up to a caliber like my .308. My scope is rated for .50 caliber use so I don't really worry about it.

The Hammer 2x42 which Doc told me (us) about seemed okay for the price, but the reviews on it were bad. People talked about how the reticle comes loose and starts spinning in the barrel when fired from standard AK-47 and such calibers.

I agree with you Jim, I sure do love the M1A line. :) They're all amazing weapons, even the Mini 14 is fantastic (from what I hear).

Can't speak to the Nikon line with the adjustable dot-size, but the smaller the better, in my opinion. I have a few Nikon scopes that I am very happy with, and I am a strong supporter of Nikon cameras as well.

Yeah I love Nikon, especially like their BDC reticle on their Omega and Monarch series'. No idea how they are with red dot though. I'd expect them to be pretty good because Nikon is amazing at everything else. :p
