I was just down in America for a family function.
While there I drove over to visit my youngest daughter attending college (freshman)
They have a shooting team of which she expressed interest.

I figured I let her check out the team first before doing anything.
She might like to participate and learn more about shotgun shooting sports.
They do have weekly practices of Trap, Skeet and Sporting Clay.
She says they compete in collegiate shooting competitions throughout the region or shoot for fun.

So Im hopeing her grades and class scheduel allow her to try shooting sports.

Lindenwood College in St. Louis has scholarships for shotgunners. Missouri University has a shotgun sports program but doesn't really put any money into it. Hannibal LaGrange also has a shotgun program (Sponsored by the Potterfields at Midway USA).
My son shot on the Missouri University Team - great way to meet people with similar interests.

Did some looking around as far as some of the colleges that have Shotgun Programs. These are some I found.

· Colorado State University (Fort Collins, CO)

· Duke University (Durham, NC)

· Eastern Kentucky University (Richmond, KY)

· Fort Hays State University (Hays, KS)

· George Mason University (Fairfax, VA)

· Iowa State University (Ames, IA)

· Kansas State University (Manhattan, KS)

· Lindenwood University (St. Charles, MO)

· Purdue University — West Lafayette (West Lafayette, IN)

· Radford University (Radford, VA)

· Texas A&M University — College Station (College Station, TX)

· Trinity University (San Antonio, TX)

· University of Illinois at Urbana–Champaign (Champaign, IL)

· University of Louisiana at Lafayette (Lafayette, LA)

· University of Missouri — Columbia (Columbia, MO)

· University of Wyoming (Laramie, WY)

· Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (Blacksburg, VA)

· Yale University (New Haven, CT)

Maybe your daughter attends one of them? But I think that is great she is interested in participating in the program. Some colleges also has scholarships for the programs. I know there are more colleges that have shotgun, rifle, pistol and archery programs. Which I compliment the Colleges for since we are putting up with the anti-gun anti-hunting anti Constitutional bunch!

"down in America"..... You may not claim us Rex, but we claim you
what comes to mind for me is the signature line one of the members here has, one we haven't heard from in a bit, Art Brown Sr.

"American by birth, Alaskan by choice!"

My cousin also calls "Going to visit america.", as he and his wife, as well as his nephew, live in Wasilla, and came down to Nevada in May, for his wedding, so we flat landers could make it to the wedding. When mom and dad split, she moved up North with the kids from Idaho, and he came back home to NY, back in 1993, after retiring from the USAF.

One son lives in Washington, the other in Wasilla, and his daughter passed away a little over 20 years ago, leaving his ex wife raising their grandson, as well as the youngest son. Now he and his wife are taking care of him. while he's in college up there, after mom passed in 2015.

And yes, my wife and I made the wedding, and have made it up his way twice, to visit, in the last 10 years.

Rex, as others have posted, I hope her grades and schedule work out for her to get on the team.

I must have brought the rain with me from soggy ole OTZ over 2900 miles and three time zones away.
Just like dog crap on my boot the rain followed me down and made a proper job of mudding up that little corner of Husker Land.

Seems tests were coming soon before Fall Break.
So the youngest was doing all she could do to ready for the tests.

I never used to be jaded like this.
After emigrating 30 years ago to the Alaskan arctic I can tell Y'all by first hand experence.
"There is a Bias against Alaska!"
Its not rabid in your face type stuff.

Imagine you find some great deal on the internet, the price is right, you can handle paying.
Then on paying, they inform you, 'We Dont Ship To Alaska!'
Hugh? What? Why?
We have a zip code!, We are the 49th State! I pay my bills using the US Dollar!, I vote in American Elections just like other Americans over in the contiguous United States.
Alaska Is on the stinking North American continent!
OTZ zipcode 99752, yet we might as well be in the Middle East for all that.
I found a smoking $#!+ hot deal on Honda atv break cylinders over in Arkansas via Amazon.
Nope wouldnt ship to Alaska.
So I Googled up the company and contacted them directly by telephone.
Yes they mail parts all over the country including exports to exotic foreign overseas destinations like Alaska!
They will ship atv parts in a Flat Rate Box to an Alaskan Zip Code?!!
Yes they can transact over the telephone like Normals do in America?!
Holy Smokes! :D:D
That is the America I fondly remember growing up in!!;);)

So yes America is that nice, connected, sunny, warm place with UPS, Fed-Ex and the U.S. Post Office that somehow just wont Ship to Alaska.
