I've had several bikes but just Got my first Harley - a 2014 Switchback. Can't wait for good weather, but I live in Ohio and it will be a while. Anyone else have one?

I had an '88 FXRP for 2 1/2 years. The only good part about it was it belonged to the County and I did not have to pay to maintain it. POS electrical system. New battery every 6 months.

I have had several harleys. Find a friend who is decent at repairing a Harley. There are a lot of things you can fix yourself that a repair manual says you need a diagnostic computer to repair. If it has primary chain look to switch it out to to a belt. A primary chain makes the whole bike vibrate and it can be rough on parts. Plus the chain needs to be adjusted every time you change the oil (it seems that way). A primary belt has a tensioner that is trouble free and it cuts vibration down.

If you are not mechanically inclined you might find it is cheaper to have your maintenance done at the dealership. Lots of mom and pop shops charge just as much or more without a warranty in their work. Dealerships warranty all their work and have the resources to make the warranty good.

My first impression is not of the bike but of the dealership. Wow was I treated well. The buying experience, follow up calls, etc. I never was treated like that on any other purchase. Cuz of the weather I have only put 180 miles on the bike

Nice looking bike. I bought a 2013 Softail Slim in June and I love that bike. Me and the wife rode it from Michigan out to Sturgis, SD and then rode down to Fremont, OH to see a buddy of mine. Have fun waiting like me for the weather to clear up. This is a picture the first day I picked it up.

You could have drove an hour and bought mine for a third of the price of that beautiful machine. :p Congrats, there's nothing like it.

Tks. It's a daily rider for back and forth to work, which is about the only riding I ever do anymore. Wifey says she loves to ride, but never wants to -confused-, and my schedule severely limits time with my kid. Hell, my 8 yr old rode 1 mile this spring, Wifey never touched it at all this year.

Shoot me a pm if you ever come north, we'll put some miles on, if I keep it.

cb750f. By spring the divorce and all associated nonsense will be over and I think I may be in the market for something similar. Yours is really sharp.

Sorry about the divorce - been through that myself. I know how tough that is.

My bike isnt for sale, but I would recommend buckeye Harley Davidson in Dayton if you are looking for a bike. Great dealer.

    I am in Dayton.
