I was looking around online trying to find the best ar15 and came to the conclusion I can build a great one for the same money or less. I was wondering if anyone could help me with picking the right parts. Starting with the best lower receiver and so on

What will you use it for? How heavy/light can it be? What kind of optics do you want? What weather will it see?

I live in michigan so the weather varies. I don't want the rifle to be too heavy but I don't want it to light either. I plan on using the ar for plinking and tactical training. As for sights I'm not sure yet

Figure out your optic then ill help you with a rail system. Go to the deals deals deals thread. Theres some spikes lowers there. What distance will you be shooting?

Those look great! I saw a three pack of stripped lower receivers from surplusammo.com. Do you know anything about them?

If the first one goes smooth I can see myself building building two additional rifles

I plan on using it for plinking and tactical training. I plan on using 556/223. I don't want to spend more than 1800

At least 200 yards and as far as the barrel goes I'm still researching (I'm still learning)

$1800 is a very generous budget you can afford a good optic for it too.....

    check out this thread too
    http://www.firearmstalk.com/forums/f20/pictures-lower-receivers-38440/
and see if anything catches your eye. Bear in mind, lowers are kind of hard to find in stock right now, but with a little patience and effort I'm sure you can find somthing.....
