Very nice, and a Remmy 700 to boot. All my brother ever gave me was some nuggies and a couple of wedgies. :)

Thanks Guys! My brother bought it off a guy getting divorced when he was in Montana. Divorce does funny things like that.

How can I find out the manufacturing date or other info? Didn't see anything online. I think it is an early eighties model.

    Thanks!

Go to Remingtons website, and go to the customer help part, and send them an email with the serial #,and ask them when it was made. They will send you an email with the info.

Thanks! I haven't fired a high power bolt action rifle very much. What kind of groups can I expect at 100yrds or should I sight it in at 50?

Will my cheapo-scope be ok for now? It's a Tasco 3-9X40. Doesn't matter really, it'll have to do for now. I'm planning on taking a deer this next season.

Fugget the 50 yd sight in. Fugget grouping at 100 yds. With the right ammo that thing will drive tacks at over 200 yds in the right hands. What do you want for it?

Really!! Wow, I'm pretty ignorant about bolt actions. My rifle experience has been military weapons, a ruger mini-14, and .22's of all sorts.

I'll be needing to upgrade my scope then. I have no idea what it's worth. I saw remingtons 700 synthetic at wally world for $447. ??

The old Japanese Tasco's were great. The new Chinese Tasco's...not so much. The Wally World 700's in synthetic stocks are cheaper than a 700 BDL with polished blued steel and walnut stock.

    Nice!

I called remington today. After being on hold for 20minutes,lol, I found out this rifle was made in march,1983. They couldn't give me a value for it.

1-800-243-9700 if anyone wants to call for their info.

    Anyone have a gun bluebook?
