I don't have an obsession with Enfields as much as I have an obsession for all things gun but I also have 6 Enfields and you can make that 7 if you count the pattern 14. I have a No. 4 MK II that was one of what is called the Irish Contract rifles that is in unfired unissued condition. You gotta love these old soldiers.

Please note the Ishy is not a .308- it is a 7.62 NATO, and yes, there IS a difference.

And I am now down to my last 1000 rds of my Greek Milsurp .303. Going to need some additional fodder for the rifles.

5 Lee-Enfield's for me 1912 Enfield Arsenal No. 1 Mk III, 1943 BSA No. 4 Mk, 1944 BSA No. 4 Mk I, 1944 Longbranch No. 4 Mk I* and a 1947 RoF No. 5 Mk I jungle carbine. You can also toss in my Enfield No. 2 Revolver :)

    1... SMLE Mk III
    2....Savage No 4 Mk I
    3....Long Branch No 4 Mk I*
    4....Fazakerly No 4 Mk II
    5....Ishapore 2A Mk I
    6....No 5 Mk I

I really don't know if the No 4 Mk II was part of the Irish contract or not. Its serial number doesn't match some of the ranges I have seen but when I I got it, it was still in the wrap. I still have the label from the wrap that says:

    Rifle No. 4. Mk 2.
    C. R. 18 GA
    (Normal Butt)
    Faz
    New

I read somewhere that the Irish Contract rifles serial # range was between PF309348 - PF359347. Mine is UF 55 A 6733.

Only have 2. 1944 Fazakerley No4 Mk1 and a 1935 Ishapore No1 Mk3 on it's way. .303 British is gonna be the first caliber I reload, if I can get my hands on some dies. Great round, great rifles, packed with history.

Sorry about the .308 post, I was told and then read up that one does not use .308 in them.

I heard people use. 308 in them might depend on age

.308 is hotter and may have small case differences I don't remember that part. Only supposed to use 7.62 in the Ishy. I think they were built in the 60s in India but will have to look it up again.

Ok, guess it was 63 to 75. and here is the cartridge info.

The Enfield is one of my favorite mil-surps, I've unfortunately had to pass on several just because I want some variety in my collection.

As of now just one for me, a No.4 Mk.1

Where'd you get the bayonet? I can't find P07 bayonets for under $75+shipping.
