Here's a pic of the 5x6 bull elk I got sunday morning.
Good Job Bear, beautiful Elk!
Oh Man..... that's just beautiful.. Congratulations Bear. What did he dress out at?
Now!! That will put some meat in the freezer!!
Well done, Bear!
Wow great you lucky git
I don't know, we didn't weigh him. It was so warm we were in a hurry to get him on ice (80 degrees). It about killed me physically cause my guide pushed me but if he hadn't I would have never got him.
Can I come to the barby
What in Hell is a Git??????
Really nice Elk you got there Bear. What did you take him with? What was the shot?
C'mon man, let's make with the goods here.
Can I get an Elk Steak? *drooling*
I would mount the head if I were you a trophy specimine
That's British for "Guy Inda Tale".
I do believe Davy is talking smack about Bear not actually bagging such a big elk. Wakka Wakka Wakka.
Yeah come on bear! I love a good hunting story....Dispense with the details!!!
Congrats, all that pain and hard work makes that trophy worth so much more than just the bone and the antler. Words can't describe how happy I am for you.
A git can be many things in this instance it is a lucky git
Wow! Details, man. We need details!
Congratulations Bear and welcome back.
Nice Yeti next to it, too, by the way.
.300, or .45-70?
I shot him with my handloads of 180 gr Nosler Accubonds in my 300 win mag. I shot him 3 times-1 heart/lung shot, it rocked him but he started trying to take off. I shot again and busted both shoulders, then I shot him in the spine and he went straight down. It made up for me missing a bigger bull Saturday morning. Come to find out my scope was so loose it would rattle. It was embarrassing when I found out my scope was ready to fall off but felt better about missing then. I made up for it Sunday morning with the 5x6. We couldn't get the herd bull to come in because he was already with cows. We recovered 2 of my bullets from under the far side skin and they was perfectly mushroomed. I'm having him processed and having a full shoulder mount done. Maybe when I have the next meet & greet we'll have elk steaks on the grill? I guarantee I'll have plenty to go around.
What a nice bull. Is this your first? My first was a lowly spike but as a kid I couldnt be more proud. None since has ever brought me the thrill of that spike.
Sounds like you had an excellent hunt. The loose scope, miss, hard work, and warm weather all make the story of a good time. Thats why we go hunting and not shopping. Congrats on a very nice, hard earned elk. Enjoy!
That there dwarfs you and you're a big man. Nice Going. Congrats on a successful hunt.
