Yea baby, decided to pick up one of these up to go with my M44,
Its in great shape with a beautiful bore and great wood without flaws.
Also has all matching numbers with a 1942 date on it. Came with the bayonet, sling, ammo pouch, oiler, and tools which were inside the pouch. Got it all for $69
Got it cleaned up but was dam near clean anyways, cant wait to shoot this one. Pics make it look darker then it is but best i can do till I can take a picture outdoors.

Very nice purchase Comrade. I have an M44, 91/30 and a 91/30 sniper with a scope. I seen a pretty nice M38 at the local gun shop with matching numbers for $119.00 but my safe is full. :D

took it out and shot a few rounds on the water line by the house, gotta admit shoots pretty dam good, wont know how it is on paper till maybe tuesday when i plan on going to the range.
Was expecting it to kick like my M44 but no where close to it. Was a mild kick with either the light ball or heavy ball ammo.
I came home and stripped the wood with acetone, the varnish came off pretty easy, lot more so then i was expecting. Didnt like the dark red varnish look and wanted it to be lighter. Put a coat of BLO on it and see how it looks tomorrow.

Well after stripping the wood I put BLO back on it to see what it looked like, not happy, soooooooooooo I redid it and this time went with Tung Oil Finish which has some varnish in it to give it more of a shine and to seal the wood. The Stock on this thing is wild in the wood grain pattern is dark and light all over. The problem came when certain parts of the grain the TOF would not soak in and it left a shine on parts of it and other parts it would not and was really uneven. I decided to just buff it out with steel wool and get the even finish back and looks kool to me so gonna let it ride. Heading to the range this morning with it and a few others to play.

never did put it on paper, I could hit the orange lil round clay targets I had scattered all over the 100 yard berm without any problem. I put 40 rounds thru it with out a hang up or sticky bolt so I'm happy with it. After that and 40 rounds thru the M44 also my shoulder is sore a bit.
Took my sks and 2 AK's with me also and they all shot great. I also took the M1 and it will still shoot circles around the others, I had a guy hand load me some ammo for it to use deer hunting this fall and OMG they were super. Also took my granpa's lil .22 short auto winchester with me, be so funny shooting that after the others.

Thats very nice Righteous, quite an interesting pattern in the wood grain....kinda marbly. I have been thinking about getting one of these for my collection for a while, you'll pay $300 + for em here in Oz.

I shot 200 rounds thru my AK 7.62 two weeks ago and my shoulder is still killing me and I haven't shot my Mosin's yet.

Glad to hear your Mosins performed well and the new look on the 91/30 looks great.

I just got my first one this weekend from AIM as well. They are only about 45 minutes from my house so I drove up there (and since I have been waiting 10 weeks for my C&R)

    Got a 1935 Tula hex receiver - $79 !!
