I have ordered some MRE's for my larder and what are some good tips that help extend the life of the MRE's.

Pretty much the same as ammo- cool and dry- but remember that MREs have a finite lifespan- over 2 years they become less palatable (if that is possible)

Winter time the MRE's I picked last year go into the garage. Summer time they are in the house, coolest location.

As has already been stated, MREs have a shelf-life. Certainly, one should do everything one can to extend the viablility of life-sustaining supplies, but also have a program to rotate those supplies to keep them fresh.

Shelf life of all food is affected by temperature, light and time. I keep canned meats, peanut butter, fish, dry eggs, and dry milk in a spare fridge in my garage to extend their life.
