Hey everyone,

I am currently from MI but am going to move to Ashland in about a week. Cant wait to be in a new area. I was wondering what the procedure is if there is one to bring my guns with me to KY. I have 6 long guns and 2 handguns. I am also a member of a MI Gun Owners forum as well and that is what prompted me to look for one in KY was well. Thank you all and I look forward to moving.

Welcome to Kentucky. As far as I know, just bring whatever you have on down. There is no registration, permits, etc. that I know of. (You can even own full auto firearms if you pass the Federal background check and have a ton of money to spend.);)

You can get a CCDW permit from your local sheriff after taking a class. Many gun ranges offer classes.

Also, if you are willing to travel a bit, Knob Creek Gun Range has 2 machine gun shoots every year, one in April (3 - 5 this year) and one in October. I might try to go there someday.
