In the year .... two iconic designs were featured in the movies for the first time. One was a firearm. The other, a fashion accessory. Both were worn by the same individual. Fill the blank!

    No shots on goal?

I have to keep it woolly, or a simple Google search would crack it in seconds. But I am positive you know who, where, and when!

Every shot gets a like, regardless!!

Strictly speaking, the year. But if you get the actor, the gun, or the men's fashion statement, the rest will fall into place.
Looks a little like an egg hunt, I know. Google proofing!

    Sorry not Denzel W.

Clue: the character used a black shotgun too, but also "something" else not seen in the movies till that year!

A little known piece of eyewear design met a little known new handgun - IN A MOVIE. And bam! both took off in the retail market.

    Not Clint Eastwood.

You ought to talk to my wife. She's as crappy at giving movie clues as

you are. I have an archive of over 800 assorted DVDs, and I have no clue

    what you're talking about.

The first actor to "use" a Desert Eagle was actually Mickey Rourke, earlier that year. So I could not say it was first seen in Terminator, but could accurately say 1984. I wore a pair of clear Gargoyles in the 90's.

If I caused someone distress, my apologies. Cold and wind chill this Sunday, stayed home, had to do something. Might get better when I retire.

    Correct. The year was 1984.

The Magnum Desert Eagle was also introduced, but in a different movie. Arnold sported a Hardballer. Whatever happened to them?

    WOW your so wrong.

The Winchester model 1887 Lever action shotgun was first used in the movie:

The Professionals by Burt Lancaster as the character Bill Dolworth in 1966

    And then in the movie

The Life and Times of Judge Roy Bean by both Paul Newman as Judge Roy Bean and Victoria Principal as Maria Elena it was the 1901 model in 1972

    as cited on this page:

    http://www.imfdb.org/wiki/Winchester_Model_1887

The AMT Hardballer Was first used:

The Terminator by Arnold Schwarzenegger as the Character The Terminator in 1984

The question was about the Hardballer and the Gargoyles, both launched in '84.
I wasn't paying attention to the shotgun. So Terminator was "issued" a Mod 1887, what do you know.
