I have seen mossberg makes a lot of rifles in calibers like .243, 30-06, 7mm-08 and 30-30. how are these rifles. I figure with the mossberg name they shouldnt be too bad but didnt know much about them.

I have a couple shotguns and a .22 Mossberg, I like them, They seem to be well made for the money and I have thoroughly enjoyed them.
What are your intentions for them?
    Is cost the biggest issue?
    I hope that helps some.
    Best of luck

Are you thinking Mossberg lever action or Bolt?
Looking on their site, With prices between $400-700 there are plenty of other options out there for the same money.
I don't think any of the calibers you mentioned above are very inexpensive, But I am unsure about the 243 or 7mm.
There are plenty of rifles in pistol calibers that may be slightly cheaper on ammo, But you need to decide what type of rifle you like, Personally I grew up around lever actions, I like them a lot, I have recently built a couple of AR's.
    Again, I hope this helps.

I know I keep mentioning them(elsewhere), But even a Mosin Nagant M91/30 rifle would be a decent start, Cheap to get into, Not much to them, Ammo is fairly cheap, You just need to clean them well after using the mil-serp Russian ammo with the Berdan primers, But that's just very hot water down the barrels and clean as usual.
I like my M-N rifle, I even reload my own ammo.

My brother had a Mossberg .270 and LOVED it. I have a Mossberg 702 Plinkster (I know, it's just a 22LR). They're both VERY well built and very great guns. They're both absolutely awesome!!

I've got a Mossberg ATR in 30-06 that I bought about 5 years ago when I was in college and needed an inexpensive rifle for deer. I topped it with a 3x9-40 Nikon and haven't looked back. I was planning to upgrade but after shooting it there wasn't a need, it's more that accurate enough to take game within 350yards and none of my shots are near that length.
Mine is an earlier model so the trigger kind of sucks but the newer ones have a better trigger.
It's a no frills rifle designed for hunters and it does everything a hunting rifle needs to do, no more...no less.
