I have read with interest many posts on the Mosin Nagant. Iron sights are the most common, but what kind of optics did the Russians use in WWII. At places like Stalingrad. Are there any good books on the rifle?
    Thanks

I am fairly certain that the Soviets used the 3.5x PU scope.

On a slightly different note, check out mojo sights. Don't know if your looking for something, but they're interesting. I intend to invest in a set one day.

About the best book going on Mosins, written in English, is The Russian Mosin-Nagant Rifle, by Terrence W. Lapin.

There is a lot of information available on-line at several dedicated Mosin-Nagant forums. It would not take much googling to find what you are looking for.

Thanks! I know about the net, but I like to have a book recommend by someone with experience on the subject as a reference.
