So I haven't been shooting my Mosin for quite a while now. But lately I took a look at the bolt and saw a bunch of pitting. I wasn't sure if it was already there or if the condition came up due to the corrosive ammo. All in all, I oiled it to stop anything further but do you think it's unsafe to have pitting?

I wouldn't think it would be a safety issue unless the corrosion has started to eat away at the bolt. Can you post a pic?

Where on the bolt? If it's not on the lugs or the face of teh bolt it shouldn't be much of an issue. Mine have some surface pitting near the handle that wasn't cleaned up completely in the rearsenal process.
