The Virginia State Capitol welcomes CCW holders. ID yourself to the nice police officer, walk around the metal detector.

I don't like the idea of the bill as explained in the article. It sounds like it only authorizes the elected official to carry. What about the secretary who is outside of the legislators office, does that person not deserve the same right to defend themselves?

The bill should at a minimum allow anyone with official business at the building to carry and even better would be like C3 mentioned about VA and allow all CCW holders to carry.

I too agree that all permit holders should be be allowed.
I brought up the article for discussion and it will go through many revisions if passed I'm sure.

Texas allows CHL holders to carry in the Capital building. They have metal detectors now, but CHL holders just show thir license and bypass the detectors.
