Last night I ended up buying a s&w 940-1 centennial. I might have paid a little more than its worth but its unusual and out of production. Ill post pics when I get her home today. It's a 2 inch shrouded hammer model with origional box and papers.

Spontaneous purchases are not a bad thing. Congrats on your new purchase. Can't wait for pictures!

This thread is worthless without pics.

I don't see the problem. But I have to say, pics or it didn't happen.

It is in really good shape. No dings or scratches only thing that is wrong is a slight ring on the cylinder.

Anyone have a blue book value on this gun? It's a 940-1 I'd say easily 95-98%. I want to know if I did alright on this one.

I have those 'moments of weakness' a lot, unfortunately it rarely works out because my bank account is usually a little weaker than I am.:p

Also when I say weakness I mean it. I have bought 3 pistols in 3 weeks. I'm just glad I have a big safe and can hide them effectively. I am going to have to go buy a new pistol rack to hold them.

Other two pistols were a Kimber Stainless Raptor II and a Springfield XDS 9mm.

Luckily I live in Las Vegas and am in the casino industry. Alot of what I make is in cash and it makes it easier to squirrel away fun money without having to hear it from the wife.

I did sell two guns though also. Sold one of my Kimbers (crimson carry II 4" model) and an AK pistol so that helped with the funds too. The wife thought I was responsible and sensible to sell a gun to buy a gun little does she know I ended up + 1 on the deal lol.

Those kinds of moments of weakness are most gratifying....I have not made a purchase in several months so I am really feeling the itch...problem is, I tend to get fixated on a particular gun/caliber and will wait it out.
