I'm thinking of getting another barrel for my Rem 870 12 gauge, the 18.5" modified with rifle sights.I was wondering if anyone has any experience with one and knows 1:how it patterns at 25 yards with standard 00 buckshot, and 2:how it patterns with copper plated 00 buckshot at 25 yards. Thanks if you have some idea.

I have not played much with modified chokes and buck shot, but Cylinder Bore and standard 00 buck tends to give spreads of 1" per yard to target. The IC Remingtons do a little better at about 3/4" per yard.

The low recoil or "tactical" buckshot loads cut that in half. I would expect standard 00 buck to be similar to the IC as it is a little too much choke and can cause some added disruption and deformation to pellets that is not good for patterns.
