They are certainly quite different. Do you want a single action or an autoloader? I have a Ruger Single Six. It is a very nice gun, but I also have a MK III Hunter, and I shoot it a lot more. The Single Six is descently accurate, but the Hunter is very accurate. The auto is nice to quickly reshoot to pick up a miss when plinking.

Short answer-get the Ruger mk 3 Hunter. The mk 3 Hunter will be reliable, safe, and MUCH more accurate than you'll ever be.

If you want a single action, get a Ruger Super Single Six. I've seen a LOT of "bad" Heritage Rough Riders-I've NEVER seen a bad Ruger Super Single Six.

The Heritage Rough Rider is a good looking revolver. However, if you actually would like to shoot the firearm, get the Ruger. ;)
