So far the only I know of is the popular Sig p238, are there any others I might keep in mind? Really interested in a carry version of the full size.

Browning has come out with a 1911 .22 Cal 100 year anniversity edition that's 85% of the original size. I've order one. May not be enough power for what your looking for. I looked at the Sig version and didn't like the way you have to leave in cocked position with safety lever on (something could rub against and flip safety off). I like the way the "Guardian" 380 can be cocked with the hammer down and it's a double action to fire it.

If you're lucky enough to find one, my Dad has the Colt Mustang .380. It runs flawlessly.
However I don't believe you can find a new one anymore.

Nope, but my understanding is that the Sig p238 is the Colt Mustang. Either made with same mould or whatever. In any case, thanks for the response.

Colt just re-introduced the mustang. It should be on shelves soon.

Yeah, you're right about the .22 cal, but thanks for offer anyway.

Dang, I was really hoping for more replies and options. I am looking forward to the day that I get a P238, however there are so many before it that I need to pick up and because of the 600 price tag it gets shoved to the second to the last on my list. Were I to find something similar in the 400-450 it just might jump to second from the top. Hmmm... Maybe I'll wait a while and pick one up used. It'd be my first and I'm extremely hesitant to even think of doing so, but by the time I can afford a new one they very well may be out of circulation. And I can't stand the idea of having the word Mustang on the side of my gun.

I pick up my P238 for only $449 at a local sporting chain.

I've already seen them on Gun Broker. But, I suspect they are being offered by dealers that got in on the first shipment with intent to make some extra $$$, 'cause their "Buy Now" prices have been well above MSRP.

I've read a few reviews from owners that complain of sloppy cosmetics/machine work, etc., but nothing that will hinder it's operation. I've got my eyes open for one, but with no Colt Dealers in my immediate area, probably going to mean taking a sight seeing trip or making a few gun shows.

Scaled down 1911 to the T. The wife can shoot it no problem. She hated the LCP. And it looks like my carry gun. What is more romantic than his and her pistols.

I have both the Kimber ultra carry and the Sig 232 (.380). I'm definitely a "bigger is better" kind of guy and I happily carried some version of a .45 every day for years. I did discover that slowly over time I seem to grab the sig when I leave the house. It's a great, ultra reliable firearm and it's slim enough that it barely prints under a T shirt /iwb holster carry scenario. Loaded with gold dots and a spare mag in my back pocket. I've really come to love this weapon and the fit/finish is incredibly good. I stoned a little metal on the underside of the slide and polished out the feed ramp a bit but otherwise its factory right out of the box. Hope this helps.

The SA EMP is an option. They're pretty small.
How small do they need to be? My DW CCO is just about perfect for me, but it ain't micro.
