We have a member or two that have them. It looks like a pretty slick gun. There have been some reliability issues with some of them.

I dont know much about the gun either, i just know that it shares the same 5.7 round with the P90 submachine gun. I heard that the 5.7 has pretty decent ballistics

For those old enough to recall the Mdl. 53 S&W .22 CF Magnum AKA Jet. This was a fast running .22 centerfire made from necking down a .357 Mag case to take a 40 gr. .222 bullet. The Mdl. 53 could also fire the .22 rimfire with the use of chamber inserts. The hammer had a CF or RF thumb selector. These were very interesting if you were a reloader. Pushing the .22 over 2,000 FPS from a handgun in the 1960s was a trick. The Mdl. 53 like the modern FN 5.7 run into pressure problems. The Mdl. 53 "Jet" is now history. But I kept mine and still fuss with it after all these years. I have to wonder if the FN 5.7 will go the same way.:)

I cannot see myself jumping into bed with such a thing.:D

Although a rifle round, both platforms are designed for short ranges. Special teams use that mainly for building entries.

i saw one in a local gun shop a couple years ago & was intrigued by it until i saw the $900 price tag, and ammo for it in that same shop cost about as much as good .308 hunting ammo. no thanks.

    FN FiveSeven

    Looks: Goofy
Works: Great. Accurate, low recoil, high capacity, but quite loud.
Price: Hefty. Both the gun and ammo.

Could be a fun target pistol, varmint pistol, and practical woods gun for anything that weighs less than 100lbs. Yes, it is also a very effective anti-personnel gun. But the velocity and size don't lend themselves to carry or urban HD in my opinion. I don't think I'd ever choose the FN 5.7 as one of my primary handguns, but it could be a fun extra if your budget allows.
