This is seriously one of those only in Florida things. This state makes the news for all the wrong reasons!

Lost a good air mattress that way one time; i wish there would've been a handy light bar to tie it to.

Yeah, I'm thinking she is just what would be called a hillbilly move (except Florida hasn't got anything to call a hill in the state)

With other things that some police officers are caught doing this is pretty minor/funny. Must have been a slow news day.

It appears she has a history of doing stupid things.

Honestly, even if it wasn't a slow news day, this would have made it. This sh*t is funny...

Had a State Trooper here about 15 years ago seen hauling bales of hay on the roof of his issued Mustang. He made a habit of exercising poor judgement

They have a Union to protect them. She has been there over thirty years. You know Damn well she didn't get stupid in one day. I am sure the Police Union protected this woman for some 29 years. Gees and these people carry guns in public.

I'd say that if she has a history of bad judgement she should be a desk cop and not on the streets at all. Ever. That is the kind of cop who would make a tragic mistake that can kill.

Then again if she moved to San Francisco she would have a shot at Chief! (see Heather Fong http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Heather_Fong )

Really? Go to the beach one day when all the snowbirds are down there and 'catching some rays'. Bikini's need weight limits.

A San Bernardino County California Fire Chief got caught doing basically the same thing last year, though not as blatant as on top of the car. He ordered the department's stocked emergency supply trailer emptied so he could use it to move to a new home. When caught, he saw nothing wrong with it. This same guy was getting a personal car allowance in his check, but continued to drive a Department car home daily. His annual compensation was well over $100K/year (county pays all retirement contributions and they are not part of social security), but could not afford a U Haul like the rest of us.

I am sorry to say evidently this is evidently not a first time incident or issue with this officer. Sounds like she should have been relieved of duty a long time ago! I am retired LEO and there is no excuse for such stupid decisions. Delivery would have probably cost her a whole $35. And prevented the embarrassment and the fueling of those with the critical opinion that LE take home cars should not be!
Of course most of them are being paid from $60,000+ a year while the LEOs are much less. Not to mention the deterrent of crime in an area due to the vehicle presence. And availability of quick response time if called!

She made the, "dumb azzes of the day" on a local radio program. It is amazing how many of those stories come from florida. Just saying.:)

What about that Penns. State Trooper who was caught. This SOB was sending nude pictures of himself to little girls. He retired on $35,000 a year with benefits. He was charged with 2 felones. Yes but the Police Union made damn sure he kept his pension. SICK.
