I really like that furniture...is that a custom job?

And why no barrel bands? Are they unneccessary with the bull bbl???

Uhmm allegedly this is the upgraded factory furniture I believe and I was wondering about the barrel band myself. But I google 10/22 bull barrel pictures and saw several with no strap sooo ?????

I did find this thread http://www.perfectunion.com/vb/ruger-10-22/69194-10-22-barrel-band-920-bull-barrel.html

And allegedly the strap adversely affects accuracy and serves no real function. Anyone confirm this?

A barrel longer than 18" on a 22 will reduce velocity.

The barrel band is not necessary. What you do have to watch out for is barrel sag when you hang a heavy barrel on an aluminum action.

Isnt the receiver on a 10/22 steel?

Wow it is not aluminum alloy. Allegedly this barrel has had a couple thousand through it so I think trouble woulda arose by now But I looked into a steel receiver and a voltzquartzen steel receiver is 369.00 :/ Would it be worth it ?

    I like it!

Don't they sell a barrel "bra" for "barrel sag"?
    ;)

Thanks. It struck me as well when I first saw it .

Nice , the junk ramline mag who's follower is so burned and gummed up won't even chamber a round.

The Ruger 10-22 receiver is aluminum alloy. Yes there is an after market bra to prevent sag.:) It is a beefed up v-block. There are steel after market receivers available also. It is a good idea to install a Delrin bolt stop pin in place of the steel one to prevent the bolt stop pin holes from becoming elongated. Especially if you shoot a lot of hyper velocity like Stingers. Quiets it down a little too.
Barrel sag is a problem when you have a heavy free floated barrel.
