What is the difference between the gen 1 and gen 2 MBUS and which do you guys prefer?

I think the Gen. 2 rear sights have a lower profile for better scope clearance.

I went with the G2 model rear MBUS for my AR. It seems good.

If you're looking, be sure to look at Joe Bob Outfitters. It's hard to beat their prices.

The gen2 rear also has a large and small peepsight like the a2 rear sight. The gen1 only has 1 peep sight

The 2s are lower profile and IMO look better. I still havent picked any up but really want to.

My gen 1s have two different size holes.

While I think the Gen. 1 MBUS had both large and small apertures, apparently they weren't on the same plane. The Gen. 2's say that they are now same plane apertures.

I'll look when I get home, but I'm pretty sure the rear I have only has 1 aperture. That's one of the reasons I switched them out for troys.
