Very cool rifles! Built like tanks. 7.5x54. Hope it is not a 7.62x51 conversion.
Easy caliber to reload for. I sold a 1945, M36 Mas last fall, 300 rounds of ammo went w/ it. 80% was French 1960's.

    Late production Century

I have a Century converted model.....havnt had any trouble with mine, Ive heard all the stories, bolt springs with coil clipped, gas regulation problems, torn case lips, slamb fires, still havent encounterd that yet
I did blunt the firing pin tip (as per Surpluserifle forums) and even manged to turn my firing pin down enuf to install a firing pin return spring (Gunboards Forums)

I had an converted model for a short time. It was too dangerous to keep around. I noticed when firing it once in awhile it would double tap. Then one day it slam fired on me chambering the first round. I had my father in law and my son with me at the time. Thankfully we were respecting the gun and it did not hurt anyone. I will never own another one.

I had a .308 conversion and it was a flawless shooter. Never had a problem with it. The problem was getting .308 at a reasonable price.

I had a Mas 49/56 conversion from back in the mid nineties and never had a problem. I sold it back in the spring. It was the luck of the draw back then if you got a good one or not. Very nice rifles. Best regards:)
