I picked it up at the gunshow, in good shape with the squirrel engraved stock.
I posted in the .22 threads with no responses. About 20% of the bullets aren't popping up from the tube magazine in time, bending the bullet in the action. Sometimes they are pointed down, jammed in real good. Usually, the last 2 rounds won't come out of the tube at all, even after repeated manual cycling.
I bought it dirty, took the stock off, and with no further disassembley, did 5 rounds of soaking with brakleen, cycle action a few times, then blow with compressed air. I couldn't find any crud after doing this. So is it clean enough or am I missing some crud? Is it a spring issue? Is there a spring that pushes the round into the action other than the tube spring? The tableholder at the gun show said twice it cycled fine.
One last thing, what's the difference between the models 99 and 60?
