Does the Marlin 70HC and the Marlin 995 use the same magazine? What is a good source to buy magazines for my Marlin 70HC?

Yes, they use the same mags. 795 mags work as well.

CDNN has the mags you need. Best to check their mid week and weekend specials for cheaper flat rate shipping.

FYI, Both the "pre" and "post" mags they show will work in any of the guns but the "pre" mags won't hold open the bolt on the newer guns.

Actually, the 70HC (HC stands for High Capacity) came with a 20? or 25? round Ramline mag, back in the day.
Unfortunately, Ramline no longer makes that mag.

On the upside, Shooter's Ridge makes a 25-rd mag for the 795 that fits the 70HC perfectly :D
Downside of that is the first run early this year had some issues in the 795's...worked better in older guns like the 70HC/995/989M2.
Also pretty much required that you pillar-bed or regular bed a 795 for it to work...which is a good idea to add precision anyway ;)

There also used to be a 13-rd steel mag that worked quite well with the 70/995/989 series...looks just like an OEM mag,
no markings...just longer. HARD to find, but very nice...my 989M2 came with one.

You wouldn't happen to know the part number for that magazine would you?

Altho a lot of them are now being sent out as Champion brand with a grey follower, so don't be surprised.
Those are the second Gen ones, work a bit better. I've got two, no issues with 'em so far :)

NOTE: Magazines often have to be hand-fit to the receiver...if you've ever owned a High Standard, you know what I mean.
Pillar bedding may be needed to assure a consistant action/stock angle so the mag can enter the stock's magwell & action magwell properly.
Having a misaligned stock/action magwell area can cause all sorts of issues.
Pillar Bedding also solves the issue of having one or both action screws misaligned, which causes rise inside the stock...
    which causes magwell misalignment.
