    "The Quiet Earth" - An experiment to create a global energy grid has an unfortunate side effect — almost all of humanity is wiped out, and the few survivors realize the effect is going to recur soon, wiping out the last remaining people.

    "Miracle Mile" - There's a huge nuclear holocaust, and it certainly looks as though the last survivors are toast at the end of the film

    Dr. Strangelove- loophole man made in nuclear protocol.

    Newer version of Battlestar Galactica, Cylons (robots) and man made cloning techniques to make a slave class. The robots rebel and use the cloning technique to develop spies to infiltrate humanity. Pretty much like Terminator with different tactics employed for a more advanced space traveling and space colonized version of mankind.
