That is going to be one Hell of a party. A shoot with a $30,000 dollar purse will draw Top Guns. This is no place for a "Green Horn" this will be for pros. The firearms seem to be open class Damn there will be some first class firearms blasting away. The entry fee is $365 dollars that will weed out the wanna be shooters with their Tack driver 10-22 rifles.:D:D

I agree. I'm gonna register for it. Seems like a good time. All I have to do is hit the 650 and I'm in the finals! Easy :)

I'm from the Tampa Bay area and Dade City is only 45 mins north of me. No other tourneys like this in our area so that's a plus.

I emailed the organizer over the weekend. He's an ex-Navy officer, which I appreciated. Said he was offering military and law enforcement discounts starting today as well. Nice.

Ironsight 1, Great hope you do well. What caliber and type of rifle will you be shooting? Is this a Service rifle only? Will all the shooting be off hand?:)

Thanks nitestalker. The rule book says off hand. I use a Rem. 30.06*
    742. I may install a M-1 rail for this shoot.*Thoughts?

The Mdl 742 is a fine hunting rifles. I have one in a .280 made in the 1960s. I shoot many matches each year. But I could never keep a 10 shot string on a 100 meter ten ring with the 742. They will be shooting match grade M1As and modified off hand Remingtons that can shoot while hot. Timed fire and long strings are used in these matches to make them more demanding. I would sand bag the 742 and run 10 shot strings on a 100 meter paper. Run them at about 15 seconds apart see how far the 742 walks as it heats. As you know you can double that for off hand shooting. The Service rifles and Target rigs will have Adj. Midrange sights of which the owners will no the values out to 700 meters.:)
