I had a set of Magpul MBUS on an AR and took them off and installed them on a Steyr AUG to see if I liked them on that gun before I ordered another set. I do like them so started looking around for a deal on another set or two. Most places wanted $80 and up. Then I did a search on www.gunbroker.com and found a guy in Tallahassee, FL that was advertising them for $14.99 + $2.25 shipping. I decided to take a chance because he had over 50 positive feedbacks and ordered two sets. Well I got them today and they seem to be the same as the ones everyone else wants a lot more for. He seems to have black, green and fde for different prices on different buy it now auctions. If anyone wants some of these your not going to find them cheaper anywhere. I don't know if they fell off a truck or what. I have nothing to do with these auctions and just wanted to share. He goes by matt09850 on gunbroker. The picture is what I received for $32.23.

Those are the PTS ones , my friend bought a set and they were pretty tough to get on the rail " very tight" , I think they are made out of different plastic and the front pin was plastic instead of metal . They will work but they are not made here in the US .

    Pts

Pure you are correct they are PTS ones according to the box but the front pin on these are metal and I had no problem at all getting them on the rail of one of my ARs. For the price I'm happy with them. If I was going to war I wouldn't rely on any MBUS. I would have BUISs instead. That said I don't think they are as well made as US made ones.

There was a guy at the gun show trying to sell them for $40. I had to explain to him the differences in the PTS. Luckily he had some MBUS I could compare them to. You could tell he was a johnny come lately type selling knives, lighters, and "gun stuff". He seemed pretty grateful i told him since he just got ripped off by the guy that traded him for 5 sets of them.

I was told the PTS are for paintball, and then a gunsmith told me they are for training purposes? I have a set of these for a shotgun(don't ask why?) they seem to be the same thing.

They arent bad really , other than the one my friend bought with the plastic front pin , The thing I noticed about them most was the molding lines werent cleaned up as well as the US made ones , the plastic had a different look , other than that they functioned the same and he hasnt had any issues with his . I say for a guy on a budget they would work great , I like the Magpul sights better than my Troys , I had a oops with one rifle that had a troy in the locked up postion and yes it fell on the rear sight and tweaked it pretty good , its now a fixed sight , well it was until I replace it with a MBUS . the MBUS has the ability to fold without being locked in the up position unlike most of the others , that gives them a chance to take a hit and keep going , if you want durability the carry handle is the way to go

As in most things, you get what you pay for.

If they suit your needs, be happy and you're good to go.

the actual made in the us by magpul mbus sights are only second in toughness to fixed iron sights. dont let the plastic fool you they hold up better than metal flip ups under severe abuse. this doesnt apply to chinese knock offs.

Ah, I was wondering how he got it for that cheap. I am paying 80 euros for some iron sights from magpul, and that is on a very good sale. Sorry to hear that.
