Hey all- I wanted to share a project that I've got going at the moment. I'm interested in what everyone's thoughts are.

Ps- I'd love to hear others experience with Fortis parts.

This is the first breakdown. Will update thread as we go.

This is the start. Pretty stock rifle, sans the factory handguard and stock. It came without sights so we threw some MBUS sights on it. As you can tell, I love the FDE look.

I like the Fortis rail. From looking at their line they seem to be going for very lightweight products! I was thinking about the Fortis rail, but I'm not going to building any more Ars for the time being....hopefully I'll be too busy shooting them. I like the aggressive looks, the light weight and build int qd slots for slings. You will have to watch out tho, because its lightweight design, and big slots will make it heat up quickly, but conversely it should cool down fast too.

I am not sure but you may need a new barrel nut for the Fortis rail.

I am sure that you will need a new gas block if you plan to use it. YHM makes a great low cost product, I got mine for $35 on sale. (over a year ago) Make sure you get a spare roll pin for your gas tube while you are at it!

Thanks for the heads up. I had purchased a Troy low profile has block and had that ready to go. We ended up not needing to purchase anything else, just had to do a little surgery. Cut off the d ring and viola! It's ready to go! Check it out.

I'm assuming you are talking about the Fortis REV rail. Their Fortis rail is a success, lots of people liking them. Lots of air vents to cool the barrel. But don't let your fingers accidentally slip into it.
Installation is a breeze too. But in my opinion it won't be as tight or straight as many other manufacturers like Geissele or Centurion Arms. You need to tightened all the 4 screws evenly to make it pure flat across.
    Just my 2cents.

Sure thing. Sorry for the long response, I cut a tendon in my finger and its proven difficult to do this one handed. Damn vert grip slides off past the AFG.

Anyway-here are some tighter shots. Once I get healed up I'll pull it back down to nothing but the rail and get some posted.
