Hi, I've just acquired a rather old set of Lyman reloading tools. They are called the 310 die and loading tool. I'd like to use the set, as it has some calibers I don't reload at the moment. The one problem is that the dies don't seem to screw into the tool, they seem a bit too small. Both are the 310 models, dies and tool, but it won't fit. Do any experienced loader know what's going on here?

Okay. The dies should screw into the handles, withj the die opening going into the handle from the outside of the handle.

To use, open the handles, place the case in the die and close the handles.

if the does won't fit that way......I guess I gotta wait for the pictures.

    try www.lymanproducts.com/lyman/dies/lyman-310tool.php

I can't get right to it for some reason, but find dies and click on it then click on 310 tool and will give a pdf for using the tool.

Like this? The only problem is that the die's threads don't seem to take with the tool's threads. The dies threads seem a little too small. That's the decapper die in there.

    That's correct. I guess now I'm really stumped.

I didn't know that there were different thread sizes. If no one more knowledgeable than me comes along in a few days, you might have to write or email Lyman.

I knew they made large and small handles, but I thought the thread size was the same. The one I had years ago was a small handle with .32 and .38 pistol dies.

Sorry I couldn't be more helpful, but I gave away my old 310 tool about 25 years ago, and my memory isn't what it used to be!
