Hey guys, as the title says, I'm interested in getting a shotgun, and I want to hear whatever opinions or hopefully experience you guys can throw my way. Let me start by giving you my situation. I'm a 20 year old college student, and I live in an apartment with roommates who I fully trust. The area of town I live in is not great, so after many months of thought on the subject, I've decided to purchase a shotgun. Primarily, it'll be used for home defense, and kept unloaded in my apartment. However, if I'm gonna get it, I'll want to have some fun with it too, so let's say light range use... I can't imagine more than 50 shells a month. I'd like to spend, if possible, no more than $350. So it'll have to be A) Reasonably reliable B) Relatively short barrel (18"-24"? You guys tell me what you'd go with), and C) I would prefer something with a buttstock. I'm not comfortable with firing a shotgun that has no stock, as the only long guns I've ever fired had stocks. So, what would you purchase in my situation, and why? Another question... I currently live in Tallahassee, FL, where I'm studying, but I am originally from Maryland, and my driver's license is MD. Will I need to get a Florida driver's license to purchase the firearm? I can prove residence with transcripts and utility bills, etc. I've never purchased a firearm before so I don't know what the process entails. My apologies for such a long post, but I wanted to provide you with the best description so that you could provide me with your best ideas. Thanks a bunch in advance, I'm looking forward to your replies.
