I would like to find a supplier for 7.62x39, with heavier grained ammo than is currently offered. (ie) 147 gr and up. Any one have any ideas ? I have allready tried " Double tap ", that did not work out. I believe that the potential of the 7.62x39 round can be attained w/ heavier bullets. I do not reload. Hoping someone can point me to a supplier.

My Yugo SKS shows measurably better groups with the 154 grain Wolf SP loads, vs. the standard 123 grain FMJ loads. But, with handloading, my 123 gr. loads are tighter yet.

Yeah, I tried reloading some with 150 grain bullets, but it was compacting the powder really bad.

Several companies make a nice 150 gr. bullet you can load in the X39 Speer,Sierra .311 are the most common I also like the Priv Partizan .311 150 gr. SP when Graf has them in stocks, which has been awhile.

I get excellent results with all three bullets loaded to 2.200 inches,no compressed load problems using Reloader #7 and the data from the Lee manual. I've also loaded lots of Bulgarian Surplus 149 and 182 gr. FMJ's for plinking ammo. The old 182's put a pretty good thump on steel plates.
