    308 winchester for bigger game.

    ive used my 458 socom with 350grn soft points on texas whitetail. less meat damage than using a 30-06 or 308

    its a very shortrange cartridge however

    Well, a .308 chambering requires an AR-10 upper/lower - unlike some other calibers on the AR-15 platform.

    It really comes down to what you WANT the weapon to do. Long Range target shooting? Mid range hunting? Brush hunting? Urban chaos and announcing your boundaries??

    If you want a truly custom AR, get a cnc mill and make one from a block of 7075 t6. Might cost you a couple grand and a few hundred hours.

    If you a custom engracing chec out Sureshot laser marking. He does awesome work.

    You can buy 7075 t6 aluminum pretty easily you will porbably pay about $25 just google for places that sell steel for contruction.
