    Hey all-

I currently carry a M&P Shield 40 as my primary carry. I'm looking for another carry weapon in 9mm that is a single stack. I like the slim frame (I'm 5'10, 160) of the M&P due to wearing it inside a tucked in button down shirt.

If I'm unable to find something that I love (and I haven't yet) then I'll be going with a Glock 26. I know that's not a single stack, but I love the look and hey... It's a Glock!

    Anyone have any thoughts/suggestions?

M&P Shield in a 9mm? Haha, that's what I carry now, along with a Sig p238. You can look at the Sig p938 (9mm) if you're a fan of the 1911 platform.

Maybe a 9mm shield? I mean you already are familiar with the gun. Or for ultra small, Diamondback DB9 or a SCCY.

I personally hate Glocks. No reason, just my own bias.

But if you want a single stack, and that's what you're used to for that matter, why go double stacked all of a sudden? I suggest going into a LGS and asking to stick a G26 in your carry position, dressed how you normally would. You'll know at that time if a double stack is right for you or not.

I carry the Shield 9mm. Very happy about it. Own Glock 26 but too bad it's bulky.
Few days ago i just purchased the newly released Xds9 Bitone. It's almost identical to the Shield in the term of size and thickness.
Shot it about 250 rounds through it on the last 2 days and not even a single failure! Accuracy is much better than the Shield. But the grip texture is way too agressive which causes pain if you like to shoot. But the problem can be solved by adding the Talon grip.
Now i'm hoping Raven will be making the Phantom holster for the Xds as i use Raven for my Shield.
    So check the Xds9 out!
Here are my Shield and Xds9 pics :)

Seems like a easy pick, buy a sheild. Same basic feel and trigger. Nothing new to learn.

Agreed. Walther PPS is extremely nice...XDs is as well. Either of those get my vote.

You might want to consider a holster instead of a gun. I am a big guy with a big belly. I have no problems carrying a full size 1911 with a belly band holster. Wearing nothing but shorts and a T shirt. It's not the fastest way to draw a gun but it's a lot faster than running to the car.

Kahr PM 9... or save two bills and get the CM 9

Dimensionally I don't think there a smaller 9 available from a "reputable" builder.

    Tack

One I've been looking at and have heard great things about and is best bang for buck, is the Sccy CPX2. Double stack under 1"width. Beat that! Lol

I like my little Sig 938 a lot. It's pretty small though.

I have the SCCY-cpx2 and I really like the gun. Feels great in the hand and conceals pretty darn easily. I'm small and carry IWB about 4:00 with no issues. The fact that it is a double stack (staggered 10 round) still does not make the gun bulky. I have small hands and the grip fits me perfectly.

Just my 2 cents but figured it couldn't hurt to let you know. Good luck on your choice because there are some excellent choices out there. The M&P Shield is a great gun also. If I could afford it I'd probably own 4 or 5 of those smaller nines.

Thanks for the good suggestions. I'm a Glock guy by tradition, with the M&P Shield being the exception. I don't know if I can bring myself to buy another Shield in another caliber despite how happy I've been with it.

I think the 26 is the way I'm going. Thanks for the suggestions!
