I have a Bushmaster and am looking for a replacement BCG so I can use my original as a backup. I would obviously want something that is an upgrade. I just plink and shoot for fun but that doesn't mean I want crap. What do you guys recommend?

Fa carrier gives better reliability more mass means its going to feed better and the full rear portion means it has an easier time moving into the buffer tube.

The spikes from rogtach that xmark mentioned is a great for for what your planning to do plus he is a great guy to do business with. I've ordered from him more than once simply outstanding customer service. 124$ milspec bcg is a smoking deal with his code

    BCM- About $200, but excellent.
Spike's- The ROG link is a square deal on a very good BCG.
PSA- Same quality/price as the Spike's...I'll bet ROG delivers quicker, LOL.
AIM- Has some excellent BCG for $80-100, but they're often out of stock.

Those are what I'd look at. BCM is my go-to, but I might not spend that much to upgrade a Bushy. I've owned all of the BCGs above, and have been quite satisfied with each. The $80 and $100 AIM Surplus BCGs are very good...but constantly in and out of stock.

ROG's Spike's looks like a fine option to me.

The good ones that are affordable have been mentioned, I have. Nickel boron carrier from Rainier that was $170 on sale, Aim has Black Nitrite carriers that are excellent for $125, Spikes and BCM do not deal in junk. PSA "premium" is good to go, they also have a ni-boron that is good. The choices are endless so it is up to you.

Looks pretty cool. I will check it out when I have more funds. I'm thinking about replacing every part my Bushy until every part of it is upgraded and then I will have two, my Bushy and a custom build, Kind of a slow build.
I also have got the itch for a .308 though built for accuracy.
I must admit I have heard mixed opinions on the Bushy but I have been quite happy with it. It eats everything I feed it.
